DV8 December 2005

Summertime in Bournemouth, twelve years ago, and two friends Helen Baillie & David Bradley - decided to have a party. It had to be a big venue so everyone could come, lots of dancing and lots of fun – the White Ball was born!

The first White Ball took place in June 1993 - and it was such a success. So we had another party in the November – this time the Black Ball. Friends bought their friends who bought their friends. Lots of familiar faces and lots of new ones. Since then the ball has always been a sell out to those in the know. The combination of fantastic live bands with fun sideshows and games in a friendly atmosphere guarantees a great night.

There’s been many great bands over the years including FABBA, Loose Chippings, The Crack, Madness tribute, Stereoronics; Hot Pants Agogo, The Rolling Stoned, Robbie Williams tribute, The Steve Smith Band; The Rat Pack; Jimmy House Band Remember …. And many, many more.

And there’s been a huge amount of fun and bumps along the way. Variously, from event to event, these have included ......Dodgems Karaoke, Casino , Pole Dancing, Palmists, Gladiator Joust, Gyroscope, Human Table Football, the human washing machine, Scalextrics, Robot Wars Wars; Speed Dating; Rodeo Bull, Ride of your Life; Pole Joust, , Walzers, Ghost Train and of course the infamous Matt’s Blacks Piano Bar.

And the outfits! There’ve been all sorts - take a look at our gallery!
